Carl and I pitched yesterday at the Jumpstart Challenge. There were 3 categories: Real Estate, Insurance and a Wild Card category. The idea behind this was that the there would be 2 existing companies that would come in and tell the group what their problem was. Groups could then take the problems and create a solution to fix that problem. If you weren’t interested in finding a solution for the two companies, you could pick the wild card category and find a solution to a problem you saw out there.
Since Startup Weekend last year, I’ve had the vision of creating software for my Gotta Pixel customers. I have had so many incredible people cheering me on and if it wasn’t for them, I am pretty sure I wouldn’t be right here, right now.
Carl and I pitched the DigiWidgets software. I’m pretty proud that I was able to get through what I needed to pitch and we got to show off our new software (which rocks). We won. But not only did we win the wild card category, we also won the real estate category. Seems that our software would fix a separate issue that they had!
I have to admit I was kind of in shock. It is incredible that I was able to find Carl and bring this little idea into the world. 2014 is going to be a really great year I believe.
